New Leaked Image Fuels Speculations That Beloved Stranger Things Character Might Die in Season 4's Finale

Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 continues to break viewership records even outside the streaming platform, and it's foreseen to break its own records with the upcoming second volume. Volume 1 follows the Hawkins gang's latest dive into the Upside Down, while also introducing the show's most menacing villain, Vecna.

(Warning: This article contains spoilers for Stranger Things Season 4)

Vecna's arrival in the latest season of Stranger Things marks a tremendous significance to the show. As the show progresses, it was later on revealed that the eerie dimension Upside Down was born when Henry Creel was pushed by Eleven into the dimension. With that said, Vecna isn't just a regular villain the fans have seen, instead, he is the king of the infamous Upside Down.

Unlike the show's previous villains that focused on horrifying creatures like the Mind Flayer and the Demogorgon, Vecna easily overthrows them all. Vecna shares humane instincts such as decisiveness, mainly to kill Eleven.

Now that the series introduced the show's most spine-chilling villain, the entire Hawkins gang remains in jeopardy under Vecna's wrath, especially now that Eleven is miles away and won't be able to save her friends. Sadly, it looks like one or more characters will face demise in the upcoming second volume, and one of them who's being foreshadowed to face death is the fan-beloved Steve Harrington.

More recently, the latest leaked image of Dustin crying seems to spark speculations that Joe Keery’s Steve might indeed die.

Dustin and Steve's unexpected relationship is one of the many pleasant things about the show. The fan-favorite duo is undeniably the show's perfect dynamic duo, and it would surely be extremely heartbreaking if either one of them face an unfortunate fate at the season finale. Based on the leaked image, it looks like Dustin is intensely heartbroken, which plainly hints that he is in front of a painful situation.

Nevertheless, it could be anyone from the Hawkins gang. Volume 1 ends with Nancy captured by Vecna in the Upside Down, Max still under Vecna's spell, and Will appears to be a new victim of the villain. Whoever that is, will surely unfold when Volume 2 arrives on July 1.

Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 is now available to stream on Netflix.
