New Detailed Look at Ben Solo’s Original Jedi Lightsaber

While we were introduced to Kylo Ren using his red crossguard lightsaber, Star Wars: The Last Jedi gave us a small peek at Ben Solo's blue Jedi weapon before he completely turned to the Dark Side. What's great is, we now have a detailed look at Ben's saber, and it has some neat Easter Eggs on it.

Here are some neat details from the description:

The finned grips on the hilt of Ben's saber are similar to those found on Darth Vader's lightsaber, but with additional [flaring?] at the base. With geometric lines and squared off corners, Ben's lightsaber shows a similar style to his mother Leia's saber, and almost resembles a medieval watchtower when stood on end.

Though we only got a short look at it in the movie, you can see that it's still the base for Kylo's crossguard saber; even the emitter looks the same. In the comics, the lightsaber is actually damaged when he places his red and cracked Kyber inside it, forcing Kylo to add the ‘vents' on the side for the excess energy to come out.

I also like the neat detail that it has some influence from Leia's lightsaber. I didn't really get the design when it was initially revealed, but now I can see that it also has some kind of connection to Ben Solo, giving it a lot more meat to the backstory.

Rumor has it that Lucasfilm is working on a Ben Solo property, but for now, nothing has been officially confirmed. In the meantime, fans wait for the release of The Mandalorian Season 2 on Disney+ this October.
