The theatrical cut of Justice League came out on this day three years ago, and Zack Snyder has decided now is a good time to try and promote the release of his original cut on HBO Max. Just in, we have a new trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League, and it comes with some new shots and oddly, a black and white palette.
Admittedly, the trailer is full of the shots that we've seen in the first official preview for ZSJL, but it does come with some new shots of Superman, Darkseid, and Cyborg. We're not entirely sure why Snyder would release this new trailer in black and white, but some are speculating that there will be a monochrome version of the film like they did with Mad Max: Fury Road and Logan.
I'll be honest, I'm personally disappointed that we didn't get to see a lot more of the film, but I guess this is all in service to build hype for the release on HBO Max. With us only seeing what we've already gotten before, I have a feeling that the movie's premiere could still be far off into 2021; they would probably drop a lot of better shots if they were expecting ZSJL to come out sometime in January.
In the meantime, there is overwhelming support for Snyder when it comes to the release of his original vision, and though I'm not expecting it to be perfect, I'm at least pleased that we would get a proper follow-up to Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. With the MCU being so colorful and kid-friendly, I'm very open to Snyder's more mature approach to superheroes. Hopefully he won't disappoint.
Zack Snyder's Justice League is set to come out on HBO Max sometime in 2021.
