New Black Adam Poster Sees the Titular Antihero Taking the DCEU Throne


The DCEU is making its comeback next month with the upcoming film Black Adam which will see the debut of the titular antihero played by Dwayne Johnson. For years, the wrestler-turned-actor has been hyping up the character's arrival in the DCEU and promised that the hierarchy of power is about to change.

As they are ramping up the marketing campaign for the film, Johnson recently unveiled the new poster for Black Adam on social media where the titular antihero can be seen seating on a throne. It also includes the tagline "The time of heroes is over" which solidifies the arrival of the antihero and the beginning of the new era in the DCEU.

This new poster is an indication that Warner Bros. is going full force on ramping up the marketing campaign for the film which is set to release next month. Considering the current state of the DCEU and Johnson's star power, there are a lot of stakes with this film and the studio is definitely hoping that this will end up being a gigantic success.

Besides the titular antihero, the upcoming film will also feature the DCEU debut of the Justice Society of America consisting of Doctor Fate, Hawkman, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone. Amanda Waller will also appear in the film as revealed by the latest trailer.

The film's logline reads: "Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."

The cast also includes Pierce Brosnan, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, and Viola Davis. Jaume Collet-Serra directed the film.
