Netflix's The Irregulars Trailer Pits Street Urchins Against the Forces of Evil

It's time to focus on Arthur Conan Doyle's unsung heroes. The new Netflix series The Irregulars has just dropped an official trailer and it introduces us to Sherlock Holmes' street urchins as they fight against the forces of evil.

The trailer opens with a glimpse at Victorian London at night where a terrifying monster is lurking in the darkness. A young girl senses the evil entity but is quickly comforted by her companion.

Interestingly, the monster isn't the only one who might have an eye on these children. A seemingly drunken John Watson approaches one of the girls, saying that he and his "business partner" have been watching them. It is then revealed that the other girl has a gift of being able to see things normal people cannot.

It doesn't take long before the street urchins are summoned to 221B Baker Street where they wonder about Watson's companion Holmes. Interestingly, it is stated that "Sherlock Holmes doesn't exist anymore."

It's a strange twist to the famous novels by Doyle considering that it was Holmes who always contacted the Baker Street Irregulars. Needless to say, something curious is happening here and Watson might have the answer.

The trailer certainly confirms that there is something supernatural around Baker Street and the Irregulars could be the only ones who could stop it. It looks like this will be a refreshing new look at Sherlock Holmes' stories.

The synopsis for The Irregulars reads as follows:

"Meet The Irregulars: Bea, Jessie, Billy, Spike and Leo. Join this ragtag gang as they uncover the demonic and mysterious depths of Victorian London alongside the sinister Dr Watson and his enigmatic business partner, Sherlock Holmes."

The Irregulars will premiere on Netflix on March 26.
