Netflix’s Binge Watchers Suffer With Unexpected Higher Costs

While most Netflix subscribers might consider the streaming giant's pricing levels pretty fair with three set price points for users to select, it turns out that binge-watchers need to keep a lookout on how much they're using Netflix's streaming platform to avoid extra costs.

Sure, Netflix doesn't really surprise is user base with additional fees, internet usage can cost extra money, especially if subscribers use the 4k streaming in Netflix's highest plan.

The Los Angeles Times has been covering these Netflix overages in a recent article and the publication decided to speak with one Netflix user, James Wright, about his streaming usage. According to the Netflix subscriber, he had actually been contacted by Comcast once and been warned that he had actually blown past the monthly limit on internet usage. Wright ended up paying more for his bell.

"The first month I blew through the cap like it was nothing," Wright complained, talking about his 4k setup. "It's not as hard to go through as you'd think."

With more and more people going online to stream films and television shows, internet prices have slowly increased, especially for individuals who subscribe to Netflix plans with raised definition of streaming. Still, Wright and other people who stream at least through 1TB of data in a month aren't that common and are often called "power streamers." These are the people who binge-watch in excess, going through movies and television shows like it was water.

Are you one of these "power streamers"? Have you had an increase in your internet bill as of late? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
