Netflix Subscribers Outraged Over Price Hike Considering Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage Cancellations

Early this morning, Netflix announced that they'd be implementing a major price increase in its monthly subscription rates for subscribers in the US, revealing an eighteen percent hike in monthly user costs for those in North America. While stockholders seem to be thrilled with the news, Netflix users have felt nothing but outrage, especially fans of the Netflix's different Marvel series.

Last year, Netflix decided to ax Iron Fist and Luke Cage, announcing the show's cancellation back in October. The news came as a shock to Marvel fans. While Iron Fist was the lowest performing series among Marvel TV's Netflix offerings, the show improved by the time it got to its second season. Luke Cage's second batch of episodes might not have been as strong, but the series was critically acclaimed when it first premiered.

Then, a month after Iron Fist and Luke Cage's cancellations, Marvel fans were again met with devastation when Netflix announced that it had also decided to put Daredevil, Marvel Netflix's most successful and critically-acclaimed series, on the chopping block.

Now fans are expecting the same outcome for The Punisher and Jessica Jones and it looks like the subscribers who've come to Netflix just for these Marvel series have started to express outrage over the price increase on social media. Some Marvel fans just can't understand the point of staying on a more expensive streaming site that no longer has the shows they've been looking out for.

With many fans considering leaving Netflix, we wonder whether the streaming giant might reconsider its axed Marvel Netflix series.

The Punisher season 2 premieres Jan. 18, 2019.
