Netflix Renews The Dragon Prince For A Third Season

We've got good news for The Dragon Prince fans. Sure, it might have taken a little over a month since the premiere of its second season on Netflix, but it looks like Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond's fantasy computer-animated series is getting another batch of episodes on the streaming site.

Joining this year's WonderCon in Anaheim this weekend, animation studio Wonderstorm together with streaming giant Netflix announced the third season renewal of Dragon Prince.

After making the announcement, Netflix also took to Twitter to share new art for the third season of The Dragon Prince. Check it out down here:

According to the Wonderstorm, the third season will follow where we left off. Ezra is now returning home to follow his destiny and claim the throne after hearing of the death of his father. Meanwhile, Rayl and Callum continue on and journey to Xadia. In the background, fans will get to see Lord Viren discovering how far his influence over his new ally, Aaravos, really goes.

The Dragon Prince Season 3 has yet to receive a premiere date from Netflix at this time, however, the show's next batch of episodes is expected to drop sometime next year. There's a lot of excitement building up over the third season of the series because fans will finally get to see the return of the Dragon Prince to Xadia.

The second season of the series did particularly well among fans and critics with many praising the show for its smoother animation style and for the direction of its story.
