Netflix Releases Creepy Trailer For Crime Scene: The Vanishing at The Cecil Hotel

The Cecil Hotel, which is located in downtown Los Angeles, had a long and dark history. There have been multiple murders and mysterious deaths in the hotel. Netflix dives into the unsettling story of the hotel in its latest docuseries.

Netflix recently released a new trailer focused on the hotel's history. 16 murders have been committed at the Cecil Hotel, along with peculiar deaths and suicides. It also became a place where two of the world's most notorious serial killers have stayed. The two serial killers who stayed in the hotel were Richard Ramirez in 1985 and Jack Unterweger in 1991.

However, the hotel became well-known worldwide after the mysterious death of Elisa Lam on January 31, 2013. The Netflix docuseries titled, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel will uncover the dark history and mysteries surrounding it.

As the Los Angeles Times reported, the docuseries will also focus on the death of Elisa Lam in 2013. Lam was a Canadian student who went to Los Angeles on January 26, 2013. She checked into the Cecil Hotel. Five days later, Lam mysteriously went missing.

Lam never checkout of the hotel. This led the police to go through the security camera footage from one of the hotel's elevators. The footage was eerie and creepy as it showed Lam behaving oddly.

Lam's body was later found on February 19, 2013. Her body was found in one of the hotel's water tanks, placed on the rooftop. The official cause of death for Lam was an accidental drowning.

The long-running Ghost Adventures series previously investigated the hotel. The series uncovered the hotel's background which was released on January 4, 2021. The Ghost Adventures crew investigated the paranormal occurrences and how it can be tied to the deaths in the hotel.

When the security footage was released, people around the world started creating their own theories of what happened. The new Netflix docuseries will attempt to learn what truly happened. Netflix's Crime Scene is a new docuseries aiming to "deconstruct the mythology and mystery surrounding infamous locations in contemporary crime."

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel will be released on February 10 on Netflix.
