The first phase of Marvel TV's various Netflix series for Krystin Ritter's Jessica Jones, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Finn Jones' Danny Rand might have resulted in the first season of The Defenders, however, it seems like the Marvel TV crossover series isn't going to get a second season on the streaming site.
Netflix just announced the upcoming Launch of "NX" today, a geeky division of content ranging from comic book series, science fiction, anime and so on and so forth.

While this is all well and good, what Marvel fans don't know is that while launching its NX division across the platform and its social media pages, Netflix made a quick, yet extremely significant change.
According to a report by ComicBook.com, Netflix just recently updated its Defenders Facebook page, changing the name to NX.
Based on this new update, it definitely seems like Netflix is putting an end to the Defenders series. Facebook page changes like these aren't done in happenstance, and the company wouldn't shoot down the page and change its name if it were planning to release a second season on the site.
While Netflix could very well create another page for another season of The Defenders, this new update implies that the company is no longer pursuing the show.
Of course, while this might disappoint Marvel fans, it stands to reason that Netflix would drop The Defenders. Not only is the show simply a mini-series, but The Defenders also had the lowest viewership among the many different Marvel Netflix series on the site. Guess the inevitable just had to come.
