Netflix is 'Super Happy' With Current Slate of Marvel Shows, Despite Iron Fist Cancellation

Fans everywhere wept when it was announced that Iron Fist was now canceled and would not return for a third season, despite numerous improvements made to the second season. It had much better choreography, a decent storyline, and teased some great characters for future seasons. While we could still see Iron Fist himself appear in the other shows, he won't be the star of one anytime soon.

Despite all of this, Netflix has stated that they are quite happy with the current round of Marvel shows they have. In fact, according to Inverse, they are ‘super happy' with the results of their other shows, with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Punisher proving to be success stories. Add the release of Daredevil season three and it's easy to see why the network isn't canceling those shows.

In a quarterly earnings call, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said that it's up to them to cancel these Marvel television shows but they are quite happy with the current crop of serials that have done well. Obviously, Iron Fist didn't pass the mark but it looks like it's smooth sailings for the other Marvel television shows.

We'll still have to wait and see if Daredevil season three leaves room for a fourth season but we do know that Jessica Jones is getting a third season and is already in development, while the second season of The Punisher has already finished filming. Luke Cage is the only one that needs confirmation on the third season but when you consider how good its reviews are, there will probably be one.

Daredevil season three should be premiering in Netflix real soon.
