Netflix Fires Back at Avatar: The Legend of Korra Haters

Like it or not, there will always be rifts between fandoms, and there has been a never-ending debate about which was better, Avatar: The Last Airbender or Avatar: The Legend of Korra. What's funny is, the official Netflix account on Twitter has decided to fire back at a post seemingly undermining the importance of Korra's story.

This was the reply to a fan who had suggested that they would prefer we got four more seasons of the Last Airbender rather than the entire run of Legend of Korra:

I have to say, I side with Netflix (or whoever's running the account) on this one. While I do want to see what Aang and the rest of Team Avatar were up to after the war, the series had completed the story it was trying to tell. After beating the Fire Lord, there wasn't really anything else to cover that would top that.

Besides, I thought the direction that The Legend of Korra went was pretty interesting, with Korra struggling to find meaning in a world that supposedly doesn't need her anymore. I'll admit, the writing and prep for Airbender were more solid, but Korra had its own perks that shouldn't be undermined by the fandom.

For now, Netflix is set to do produce a live-action series for Avatar: The Last Airbender with original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. While I would have just loved a story based on a different Avatar, I'm wondering how they plan to improve on this live-action show.

Catch Avatar: The Last Airbender now on Netflix.
