Production is still ongoing for the highly-anticipated second season of The Witcher and while we still know very little about the project which has experienced several delays last year, by the looks of it, Netflix is set to beef up the show's ensemble and now, the streaming service officially announced that reinforcements are coming as seven new actors will be joining the Henry Cavill-led epic fantasy series.

On the official NX Twitter account, it was announced that a who's who of actors who appeared in projects like Bridgerton and Downton Abbey are appearing in Season 2. Adjoa Andoh (Nenneke), Cassie Clare (Philippa Eilhart), Liz Carr (Fenn), Graham McTavish (Dijkstra), Kevin Doyle (Ba'lian), Simon Callow (Codringher), and Chris Fulton (Rience) have all been cast in the project as characters who are pretty recognizable for fans of the hit book and video game series.

Things looked extremely worrisome for the project when lead star Henry Cavill's hamstring injury temporarily halted the show's production last December. Now, it looks like it's all systems go once again for Season 2 and it's safe to assume that they're doing the best they could to avoid further delays. It's also safe to speculate that filming for the project will be extended anew considering the ensemble of actors they're bringing in. One thing's for sure though, we're hoping that The Witcher Season 2 will finally hit Netflix sometime this year.

The Witcher Season 2's release date has yet to be announced.
