Neon Disses Donald Trump for Parasite Best Picture Criticism

In case you missed it, Donald Trump has just criticized Parasite, claiming that the Best Picture awardee does not deserve its Oscar win simply for being a South Korean film. Not surprisingly, the studio that distributed the Bong Joon Ho movie has risen to its defense by stating that the President of the United States "can't read."

Neon is the studio that distributed Parasite in North America and is undoubtedly proud of the film's success. The studio's official Twitter account has just shared a video of Trump's criticism along with a brief but blistering caption. Take a look at the tweet below.

"Understandable, he can't read," the caption read. It also featured the hashtags #Parasite, #BestPicture, and #Bong2020.

If you're wondering, the caption references Bong's acceptance speech at the Golden Globes when he took home the Best Foreign Language Film award. "Once you overcome the one-inch tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films," Bong had said.

It was previously reported that Trump criticized the Academy Awards as well as Parasite.

"How bad were the Academy Awards this year," Trump asked as the crowd booed. "And the winner is... a movie from South Korea! What the hell was all that about? We've got enough problems with South Korea, with trade. On top of that, they give them the best movie of the year," he added.

Parasite also took home the Best Director award for Bong Joon Ho, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Film at the Academy Awards.
