Donald Trump Claims Parasite Didn't Deserve Best Picture Oscar for Being South Korean

It seems like everyone in the world is happy about Parasite taking home the Best Picture award at the recent Academy Awards. Everyone, that is, except the President of the United States. Donald Trump has just blasted the film claiming it doesn't deserve the award simply for being a South Korean flick.

Trump recently shared his sentiments about Parasite at a campaign rally in Colorado Springs (via The Hollywood Reporter). First, he pointed out that the Oscars had a poor selection of nominated films.

"How bad were the Academy Awards this year," Trump asked before pausing as the crowd booed the awards show. He then continued by criticizing the Best Picture winner.

"And the winner is... a movie from South Korea! What the hell was all that about? We've got enough problems with South Korea, with trade. On top of that, they give them the best movie of the year," Trump said.

Interestingly, it sounded like Trump hasn't even watched Parasite before he started criticizing it. He simply insisted that the choice of films should go back to the golden days of Hollywood.

"Was it good? I don't know. Let's get Gone With the Wind back, please? Sunset Boulevard. So many great movies," Trump said.

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like Trump will be changing his mind about Parasite anytime soon. Nevertheless, that won't stop the planned remake series of the film.

Parasite also took home the Best Director award for Bong Joon Ho, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Film at the Academy Awards.
