Nayeon of TWICE immediately showed her power as she officially debuted as a soloist.

Nayeon officially became the first TWICE member to make a solo debut this year. Indeed, the K-pop idol needed to experience something new as it had been seven years since she first made people fall in love with her.

Before her career with TWICE, she began her career as a contestant on JYP’s survival show, SIXTEEN. Now, she was finally able that she could also promote herself as a solo artist through her debut album.

TWICE’s Nayeon Breaks Record With Debut Solo Album

Naver confirmed that Nayeon officially scored half-a-million pre-orders for her highly-anticipated solo album. She officially reached the feat before she officially debuted on June 24.

According to JYP Entertainment, IM NAYEON’s 500,000 stock pre-orders became the highest number of stock pre-orders achieved by a female soloist this year.

When it comes to stock pre-orders, its number is determined by the amount of album stock before the official release. A group calculates the demand after looking into several factors, including the number of pre-orders by fans.

It was the first victory for Nayeon and fans, and they received it before the music video for POP! was publicized.

TWICE Nayeon Went Out of Comfort Zone For Her Solo Album

Fans saw Nayeon’s growth in her debut album. As the first member of TWICE to become a soloist, she revealed during a press conference that her co-members showed overwhelming support and helped her make a successful debut.

"The solo album was a chance for me to learn and grow as an artist. There were times during my promotions in the group that I felt limitations, but it felt as if this album gave me the opportunity to overcome those limitations,” she went on, per AllKpop.

Nayeon added that she went through difficulties when she started recording. But as time went by, she pushed herself to be more confident and show how much she loves to sing.

Nayeon officially released her album on Friday.
