Natalie Portman made her grand Marvel Cinematic Universe return in Thor: Love and Thunder and while the Taika Waititi film ended up generating a mixed response from audiences across realms, fans lauded Portman's performance with a lot of them saying that she was the film's saving grace. Jane Foster's fate may have cast some doubt on the actress' future but for the most part, she was the highlight of the Thorquel.

A lot of people saw Jane's comeback as a welcome return but shockingly enough, Portman had experienced trepidation about reprising her role, fearing that she might have messed up the franchise's continuity.

In the latest Marvel Studios: Assembled documentary (via The Direct) centered on Thor: Love and Thunder, lead star Chris Hemsworth revealed that Natalie was worried about her return. He shared: "[Portman] was, kind of… You know, this was a very different direction for the character, and I think had some real concerns about, ‘Hang on, does this match? The continuity from this to that and…’ And we just said, ‘That doesn’t matter.’"

Portman's future in the MCU remains shrouded in mystery following her death and while Marvel Studios has yet to announce what's next for the actress, Love and Thunder's credits scene seemingly teased a potential return for the character who is now in Valhalla. I mean, it would be a shame if the studio didn't use the Mighty Thor more.

Thor: Love and Thunder is now streaming on Disney+.
