Nam Joo Hyuk has been accused of bullying by one of his alleged victims years ago.
The Days News published an exclusive report about a former schoolmate of Nam Joo Hyuk who reportedly suffered from bullying. The informant told the media outlet that the Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo actor used to hang out with bullies when he was a student.
After the report went viral, his agency ultimately denied the rumors and said it would take strong legal action against the reporter and the source.

Management SOOP Releases Statement About Nam Joo Hyuk’s Bullying Allegations
On Monday, Management SOOP released an official press statement calling the allegations false reports. It requested a correction report from the Press Arbitration Commission (PAC) as the article damaged Nam Joo Hyuk’s reputation.
The agency then warned that it would file criminal charges and has since relayed the case to its legal advisor.
“No matter how the agency or actor reveal an official statement denying the reckless articles that take on an attitude of “whatever if it is false” and do not even check the truth and only rely on groundless rumors online, the current state leads to [the actor] being branded with a scarlet letter, which the agency really cannot help but feel distressed and regrettable about,” the company went on.

Management SOOP disclosed that it had already took reference materials during its monitoring, and it reminded everyone of the legal action it would take as soon as possible.
In the end, it asked the public to refrain from spreading rumors and making damaging reports.
Nam Joo Hyuk Was Innocent, Kind, and Positive, His Former Classmate Says
Amid the damaging rumors, a letter written by one of his classmates came into the limelight again.
The letter in question, which was posted on an online community in February 2021, has the title Amid All Of This I Am Writing About Nam Joo Hyuk. The person who wrote it recalled how they sat next to each other in school for a year.
He added that, although the actor was an athlete, he remained innocent and nice toward their schoolmates.
“Usually, the school athletes sleep during class, but I remember Nam Joo Hyuk for being innocent, kind, and positive. He didn’t get good grades, though,” the author said.
Nam Joo Hyuk’s fans have also defended the Twenty Five Twenty One actor, saying he is innocent.
