My Next Life as a Villainess will be having another run, this time, in a movie, as announced on their official website along with a commercial for it. The commercial, albeit short, showed Catarina and the rest of her friends who would be in the movie. Other details of the show, however, remain scarce as well as the release date.
My Next Life As a Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom! is based on a Japanese Light novel series by Satoru Yamaguchi with the illustrations of Nami Hidaka and it has been in circulation since 2014 after being serialized on a user-generated website, Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later published in print by Ichijinsha in 2015 and in J-Novel Club for North America. To date, it has ten volumes.
It follows the story of Catarina Claes, a member of the noble family who accidentally bumped her head hard and she got memories of being an otaku in her past life. She was reborn in an otome game, Fortune Lover, but not as a princess, but as the villainess of the game. As she tries to escape her destiny in the game, she takes countermeasures, only to have consequences on her relations with the others.
Two seasons of the anime series already passed with the first one released in 2020 which is a successful one forming part of the spring anime season of that year. With a huge fanbase created from the first season, a second run was given to it in July 2020, the second season was announced and it was released on the summer anime season of 2021.
