Ahead of the next season’s premiere, a new My Hero Academia Season 6 visual showed off the new look of Tomura Shigaraki and Dabi.

This new visual for the upcoming season was released online via the My Hero Academia official Twitter account. Though it was initially revealed in a recent stage event featuring Shigaraki and Dabi’s voice actors.

Of the two, it’s Shigaraki that has the more dramatic change in look.

For the longest time, Shigaraki wore plain navy pants and a shirt with a trench coat. The defining feature of his look is the various hands that hold his arms and face.

Following the events of Season 5, it seems that Shigaraki’s training means he no longer needs his hands to cover him.

His look is also more villain-like now as he has a red cape and more combat-ready innerwear. Plus, his stark-white hair makes him look more distinct.

Shigaraki’s updated look heralds the big events in the upcoming season. If you haven’t read the manga, this next My Hero Academia season adapts the Paranormal Liberation War arc, and it promises to be the biggest one yet in the anime.

Specifically, this arc will feature an all-out war between the Pro Heroes and the Shigaraki-led Paranormal Liberation Front.

As for the series itself, My Hero Academia is a TV anime by studio Bones that’s based on the manga of the same name by Kohei Horikoshi.

The anime started with a 13-episode first season back in 2016, and it was followed by four more seasons with 25 episodes each.

While Shigaraki’s new looks are more dramatic, his right-hand man Dabi also gets an updated look for the next season. Even if it appears similar to his standard outfit at first glance, his pants and coat have been updated.

But what makes the new visual striking is his pose. Without going into spoilers, Dabi’s pose in the visual is nearly an exact copy of his pose in an iconic part of the manga which dropped a major reveal about his previous identity.

As mentioned, the visual was revealed in a stage event that featured Tomura Shigaraki’s voice actor Koki Uchiyama as well as Dabi’s VA Hiro Shimono.

Both voice actors are well-known for voicing several popular characters. For instance, Uchiyama is the voice of Meruem in Hunter x Hunter (2011) and Toge Inumaki in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Meanwhile, Shimono is the voice of Zenitsu in Demon Slayer and Connie in Attack on Titan.

My Hero Academia Season 6 will premiere on October 1, 2022.
