Here’s What Happened Before My Hero Academia Chapter 400

The title of My Hero Academia Chapter 399 is Organic, Mingling Clusters of Light, and it picks up where the previous chapter left off as All Might continues his final stand against All For One.

All For One destroys a building, but All Might manages to dodge thanks to a combination of Tentacole and Froppy Suction Cup quirks, which enable him to increase his mobility and let him stick to the walls.

All Might also plans to use the Shoto canon and the Tailman tail, especially now that All For One is tired of the one-sided fight.

The moment All For One’s body rewinds faster the more damage he receives, All Might plans to use that particular student’s quirk.

However, there’s a problem with All Might’s energy source, so he sends out Anima robot birds as a backup plan.

If he uses that student’s particular quirk in a regular way, it would not be enough to take All For One down.

All of a sudden, All For One appears and looks down on All Might in an alleyway.

He mocks All Might for laughing just to run away from him. He also reveals that he understands what All Might is planning against him, so he’ll turn All Might’s grin into one of pure agony without going all out.

Then, All For One threatens All Might that he will kill him with minimal effort as black tendrils sprout from his arms.

All Might dodges the attack and goes upward, but he encounters two giant monster mouths, forcing him to go downward again.

The monster mouth chases All Might, while All For One insults him and calls him a gutless old fart.

All Might argues and asks All For One if he thinks that using those children’s quirks just to keep up his appearance makes him think that they would protect him.

All For One’s black tendrils cut off one of All Might’s tentacoles. This gave All For One a chance to land a direct blow on All Might’s stomach.

All For One remarks that their fight is being recorded and that the viewers are about to see their beloved symbol of peace fall from grace.

He also mocks All Might, saying how his light is far gone now. An image of All Might all alone in the middle of a dark, snowy place was then shown.

But All Might is not one to give up, as he puts the Shoto cannon in All For One’s mouth and says that All For One still doesn’t get it at all.

All Might states that people are flickering beings, and even if his light goes out, someone else will take it and keep it shining, illuminating the darkness.

The manga then cuts to an injured Aoyama being held by Kunieda’s plants and flowers in the parking lot. He was the only one left after Kunieda defeated all the 32 heroes in charge of taking care of the remaining villains.

Aoyama tries to attack with a laser, but Kunieda says that he doesn’t need any more of his light because his seeds can only grow from human flesh.

Fat Gum says that gradually, the flowers and roots will grow inside him, rendering his fat absorption quirk useless; therefore, he leaves everything to Aoyama.

Kunieda can’t believe how big the flower has blossomed from Fat Gum. He explains that when a single flower blooms, its pollen starts a chain reaction. Their roots are like extensions of his body as well.

Moreover, Kunieda has Aoyama’s belt, which means his navel laser will be useless. He also insults Aoyama, saying how weak he is because of his useless quirk. He also calls Aoyama’s life pitiful.

But Aoyama answers, saying that what Kunieda said was exactly the reason why he said Merci earlier.

Kunieda calling him a traitor reminded him of his sins, but it made him even more determined to cling to the light of the heroes.

Aoyama exclaims that he wants to shine brighter than ever before as he uses his quirk to fire lasers toward Kunieda.

The lasers went in different directions, and Kunieda managed to avoid them. But that’s when Hagakure appears and refracts Aoyama’s laser to hit Kunieda head-on.

At the same time, All Might exclaims that other people’s light will illuminate the dark and keep the light shining, allowing him to light his fire again.

He also reveals that he doesn’t plan on losing against All For One, so he better remember his name.

We then see the Anima Robot Birds bringing what’s left of Hercules up in the air. It fires a laser beam at All For One while All Might laughs. The chapter then ends with a huge caption that says "Can’t Stop Twinkling."
