After holding a beta test a few months ago, the battle royale game My Hero Ultra Rumble finally has an official release date.

Surprisingly, the game’s launch is just one week away, meaning fans won’t have to wait too long before they can try this latest My Hero Academia game.

My Hero Academia is one of the most popular modern Weekly Shonen Jump franchises. Aside from the manga being a bestseller, the anime adaptation by Bones has continued to enjoy a large audience worldwide.

Thanks to its popularity, the series has also gotten various game collaborations and projects. On the collab front, My Hero Academia teamed up with Fortnite last year.

Meanwhile, the series also has standalone game releases such as My Hero One’s Justice, the 2018 fighting game. This title became successful enough to get a sequel which was released in 2020.

Now, My Hero Academia fans can look forward to the latest game in the series, but it’s not another fighting game. Instead, it’s a battle royale titled Ultra Rumble where teams of three face off against seven opposing squads.

In the game, players can play various popular characters in the series, including Deku, Bakugo, Todoroki, All Might, and more.

Unlike most battle royales which are shooters, Ultra Rumble has a combat system that’s more reminiscent of arena fighting games.

My Hero Ultra Rumble Gets Late September Release Date

My Hero Ultra Rumble was announced by Bandai Namco back in early 2022. Since then, the game has gotten multiple beta tests.

The first beta was held only in Japan and took place in February 2022. A few months later, a closed beta was held in North America.

Ultra Rumble then got an open beta back in May, along with a release window teaser. Finally, at the Tokyo Game Show 2023, the new battle royale game was confirmed to release in late September.

The My Hero Academia battle royale game will be released on September 28 on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game’s PC version will then be released on September 29.

Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S should also be able to play the game as both current-gen consoles are backward compatible with the PS4 and Xbox One, respectively.

As shown in the trailers, the game will feature an English dub for its US release.
