My Deer Friend Nokotan Unveils First Trailer
Based on a shounen manga series written and illustrated by Oshioshio, My Deer Friend Nokotan follows Torako Koshi.
With her delinquent days behind her, Torako is now a model student, and her classmates would never be able to guess her past.
This changes when Nokotan, a strange girl with antlers, transfers to Torako's school.
Nokotan's antlers aren't the only confusing thing about her. Her keen nose can sniff anything, even the past that Torako would rather leave buried.
Who is Nokotan, then, and why does chaos follow her wherever she goes?
Wit Studio's My Dear Friend Nokotan anime trailer looks incredibly weird, and its vibe is unlike most recent school anime.
Lighthearted scenes are interchanged with inexplicably bloody or weird ones, leading us to wonder if this is venturing into the strange territory of cult classics of debatable quality such as FLCL.
At any rate, it's hard not to be at least a little intrigued!
My Deer Friend Nokotan Anime Release Date Announced
My Deer Friend Nokotan will premiere on July 7, 2024, at 11:30 PM in Japan. It will be broadcast on Tokyo MX and BS NTV every Sunday.
To celebrate the show's upcoming release, mangaka Oshioshio shared an illustration of the two main characters, encouraging the anime community to look forward to it.
My Deer Friend Nokotan Main Voice Cast Revealed
So far, the following voice actors have been announced for My Deer Friend Nokotan:
- Megumi Han (Momiji Sohma from Fruits Basket) will portray Noko "Nokotan" Shikanoko, the mysterious antlered girl.
- In the role of the main character, Torako, we'll hear Saki Fujita (Ymir from Attack on Titan).
- Rui Tanabe (Mafuyu from Journey to Bloom) will portray Anko Koshi, Torako's sinister sister.
- Fuka Izumi (Utena from Gushing over Magical Girls) will voice Meme Bashame.
- Finally, Kohsuke Toriumi (Gilbert from the old classic Pandora Hearts) will be the narrator.
