Mulan Casts the Roles of Ling and Chen Po

Ever since we got our first look at Liu Yifei as Mulan, updates for the movie have been dropping steadily. News just has it that the film has cast two of Mulan's sidekicks in the film, Ling and Chen Po.

Jimmy Wong (Left), Doua Moua (Right)

According to Deadline, Jimmy Wong has been cast as Ling, while Doua Moua has been cast as Chen Po. We don't know how much of the original characters will remain intact for the live-action version, but it would be fun if they also cast someone to play Yao a.k.a. King of the Rock.

Though Disney's Mulan has no doubt a great protagonist, it's also filled with some memorable side characters. We may not be getting any jive-talking dragons or lucky crickets, but I think the film will make up for it with new supporting characters.

For now, the only images we've seen for the movie are that of Mulan. Hopefully we get a look at all the other characters in the film at some point. We have yet to see Donnie Yen's general character or the evil witch that will be brought to life by Gong Li.

Mulan is the epic adventure of a fearless young woman who masquerades as a man in order to fight Northern Invaders attacking China. The eldest daughter of an honored warrior, Hua Mulan is spirited, determined and quick on her feet. When the Emperor issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army, she steps in to take the place of her ailing father as Hua Jun, becoming one of China's greatest warriors ever.

Mulan comes out March 27, 2020.
