MTG Japanese Alternate-Art Planeswalkers Will Get Their Own Sleeves But Won't Make It in Arena

Wizards of the Coast

When Wizards of the Coast revealed the Japanese alternate-art planeswalkers for the new Magic: The Gathering set War of the Spark, fans couldn't wait to get them. Even Magic: The Gathering Arena players want to get their digital versions of the awesome alternate-art planeswalkers but Wizards of the Coast confirmed today that they won't be available as card styles in Magic Arena. However, the publisher is planning to release sleeves featuring the stunning art pieces of Japanese artists.

The news comes from the official MTG Arena Twitter account and you can read the tweet below.

Apparently, only 3 out of the 36 planeswalkers with Japanese alternate art versions will be featured in official sleeves for Magic: The Gathering cards. We already know that the Liliana alternate-art by Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano is already getting official sleeves and poster so if I were to pick 3 others, I would choose the Nissa, Vraska, and Kasmina alternate-art pieces.

Which 3 would you choose?

The War of the Spark card set will be released on May 3, 2019. It's already available in digital version on Magic Arena.
