Official Magic: The Gathering Sleeves & Poster of Yoshitaka Amano's Liliana Art Revealed

Wizards of the Coast

The new Magic: The Gathering set War of the Spark is getting some Japanese alternate-art planeswalker cards and Wizards of the Coast revealed all 36 of them yesterday, and they feature artworks from talented Japanese artists including one from Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano.

Amano illustrated a wonderful look new look for Liliana, Dreadhorde General, and it looks fantastic. Check it out:

Now, official sleeves and posters of Amano's Liliana art are now available in limited quantities from Japanese-only promotion. According to Redditor Iyashik, for every 1,000 Yen you spend on sealed War of the Spark products at one of the participating retailers, you receive one point, and the poster can be redeemed for one point and the sleeves (50 pieces) can be redeemed for 10 points.

I would love to have this awesome art on a playmat. Hopefully, they release one featuring Amano's stunning Liliana art.

The alternate versions will be included randomly in Japanese-language boosters, replacing the regular version of the planeswalker in the pack 50% of the time.

The War of the Spark card set will be released on May 3, 2019. Prerelease events will take place on April 27-28. It will be available in digital version on Magic Arena on April 25.
