Ms. Marvel Star Iman Vellani Feels Sad That Kamala Khan and Iron Man Can No Longer Team-Up

Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani might be a die-hard fan of Captain Marvel in the new Disney+ show, but in real life, she is an extreme Iron Man fanatic. In a recent interview following Ms. Marvel's latest episode "Seeing Red" — which sees Kamala teaming up with a new Pakistani hero Red Dagger (Aramis Knight), Vellani voices out that she feels sad that the opportunity to share screentime with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man will no longer happen.

Speaking about 2008's Iron Man, the first film that instituted the MCU. "I think all of this started because I had a crush on Robert Downey Jr. [in Iron Man]," Vellani told Marvel.com. "The movie's so good. Jon Favreau is such a wonderful director. I think when I was like 11 or 12 my Marvel obsession just heightened to the max, and I fully became obsessed with Iron Man and anything to do with Iron Man."

"Whenever I was sad, I'd watch it," she added. "Whenever I was happy, I'd watch it. The first thing I did when I got cast was watch the movie. Every big moment in my life also includes Iron Man. Because I have that attachment to it, it means a lot to me even though you know, it's not like the greatest movie ever created, but to me it is."

As a self-proclaimed die-hard Iron Man fan, Vellani referenced a 2016 issue of Ms. Marvel wherein Kamala surprisingly teams up with Tony Stark.

"The 2016 run where Kamala is an Avenger, and she's fighting alongside Iron Man, and Iron Man's helping her with her physics homework and gets her gyros and fries, and they eat them together. He helps her when her dad gets sick in the comics. Their relationship is very, very wholesome," the actress concluded.

First of all, who wouldn't want to team up with the legendary hero who formed the mega-franchise from the ground up? But if ever Robert Downey Jr. is still roaming around the MCU by this time, he wouldn't even oppose Vellani's desire for a crossover. In fact, he would even volunteer to mentor the MCU newcomer, knowing how accommodating he is with his Marvel co-stars.

More importantly, these comments from Iman Vellani extremely solidify that the MCU landed another perfect casting. As a die-hard Marvel fan who comprehends every tiny detail from the reference material, she just proves every day that she is absolutely perfect for the Ms. Marvel role.

Ms. Marvel is still streaming on Disney+.
