The Moving webtoon was created by Kang Full (who also wrote the screenplay for the K-drama). His webtoons have been translated into different languages, which include Japanese, Chinese, and French. His works are also in the process of getting translated into English.

Thankfully, Moving is available in English, and you can read the webtoon online on Kakao’s Tapas webtoon platform.

What Is the K-drama Moving About?

Moving is a supernatural K-drama that follows a group of people with superpowers who are hiding their abilities. Most of the superpowered individuals have become parents now, with their children inheriting their abilities.

As people with superpowers are being hunted down, the parents do their best to stay hidden and keep their children’s abilities a secret.

The series starts by showing things from the teenagers’ perspectives. Kim Bong-seok, Jang Hui-soo, and Lee Kang-hoon are high school students dealing with the challenges of senior year while keeping their superpowers a secret.

Later on, we get episodes focused on the parents’ backstories, which shed light on how things came to be.

While numerous of Kang Full’s works have been adapted into films and series, Moving is the first where he’s adapted one of his webtoons himself.

In an interview with Deadline, Kang Full shared that writing the script for the Moving K-drama allowed him to dig deeper into the story and characters and add new ones that were not in the original work.

“Webtoons usually have a really small team and there’s always a deadline to meet, so you can’t tell all the stories you want to. But for the series, the scale of the story has grown, not too much, but enough to give us more flexibility. We’ve been able to dig deeper into the histories of some of the characters, and add new ones that weren’t in the original work.”

One character not in the webtoon is the antagonist, Frank, a character Kang created with actor Ryoo Seung-bum in mind to play the role (via KDrama Stars).

Another character that was not in the webtoon is Cha Tae-hyun’s Jeon Gye-do. According to Kang, he created the character because he wanted "a middle generation between parents and children."

So, new characters were added in order to expand the scope of the story.
