Mortal Kombat XL New Patch Delivers the Big Guns for Old & New Characters

NetherRealm Studios has delivered on its promise to bring some huge changes to Mortal Kombat XL.

After teasing some news coming to the Kombat Kast, the developer has released the full patch notes, a lot of which are changes to some notable characters.

Triborg, Alien, Bo Rai Cho, and Leatherface received some notable tweaks and changes. These are characters from the most recent Kombat Pack. However, fans can also see a lot of changes for long-time fighters, Kenshi, Jacqui, Goro, D'Vorah, and Subzero.

Alien was also teased due to the fighter being very powerful. Because of this, NetherRealm did dole out the expected nerfs. Alien will now have a bigger hurt region when attacking with the tail. Tail Slam will no longer have armor, while some other moves were notably nerfed.

Kitana's different forms have also received a good bump up. Her fan projectiles, recovery movse, range Throat Slice, and armor hits have all seen some good increases.

The full list of balances can be seen via WB Play.

On the whole, there are also some general gameplay fixes. There are increased energy costs now at 25, a hit received while running will drain 50 energy, Delayed Wakeup will not activate if the block button is held down, and players won't be able to use specific timing to avoid recover frames during jump attacks with weapons.

Mortal Kombat XL will be coming to the PC tomorrow.
