Joe Taslim might be best known for playing the iconic Sub-Zero in the Mortal Kombat reboot. However, the Star Trek Beyond actor also had a memorable role in the Cinemax action series Warrior. So what are the chances that we'll be getting Warrior Season 3? Taslim addressed the possibility of returning for the show.
Warrior was an action series based on an original concept by Bruce Lee. The show lasted two seasons before Cinemax ceased production of original programs. Nevertheless, devoted fans like me have been hoping for a possible Season 3 in another network.
But would the cast return for Warrior Season 3? I got the chance to speak with Taslim ahead of the Mortal Kombat premiere so I dropped a quick question about the series. Taslim, who played Long Zii enforcer Li Yong on the show,
"I hope, fingers crossed, that it's happening underground somewhere," Taslim said. "Definitely, Two years in South Africa, working with beautiful people, and it's Bruce Lee's legacy. I feel like it's more than a job there, they're my family. If they want me to come back, family first so definitely."
It's a hopeful answer and we're rooting for Taslim to be reunited with his Warrior family. Let's just hope that the series gets picked up by another network (hello, HBO Max) so we could see more of the Tong Wars.
Although we're keeping our fingers crossed for Warrior Season 3, fans can still see Taslim in action in Mortal Kombat later this month. It was previously reported that Taslim teased that the first fight between his character Bi-Han and Hiroyuki Sanada's Hanzo Hasashi (the future Scorpion) took a lot of preparation and is definitely something to look forward to.
Catch Taslim as Sub-Zero in the Mortal Kombat reboot, which is set to premiere in selected theaters and on HBO Max on April 23, 2021.
