A lot of fans were bewildered by the decision to leave out Johnny Cage from the Mortal Kombat film remake but in hindsight, the film's sequel has left the door wide open for the iconic MK character to join the fray and in fact, the creators of the film are already teasing the inclusion of Cage in Mortal Kombat 2.

Now, the real question is, which actor or Hollywood personality should play the charismatic character? Turns out, WWE superstar Mike "The Miz" Mizanin wants in on the Mortal Kombat franchise. The wrestler/reality star has been lobbying for months now to get cast as Johnny Cage in the film's sequel and apparently, he's serious about taking on the role.

Luckily for Miz, he has found a supporter in Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon who seemingly approved of his potential casting. After the former WWE champion shared an impressive artwork of him depicted as Cage, Boon would retweet the post and said: "Guy makes a compelling case." Check it out here:

This is not the first time The Miz has expressed his interest in joining a film franchise. He has also been lobbying for years to play Booster Gold on the big screen and a lot of fans are actually convinced that he has what it takes to jump ship to Hollywood much like his wrestling contemporaries John Cena, Dave Bautista, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

I mean, to his credit, Mizanin has already starred in feature films in the past and you can't deny that the guy oozes charisma and confidence, attributes Johnny Cage is best known for. I wouldn't mind seeing him take on the role if ever but of course, it still lies in the hands of the sequel's producers.

Mortal Kombat is now streaming on HBO Max.
