Mortal Kombat 12 Possibly in Development

There is little doubt that people are already looking forward to Mortal Kombat 12 although there hasn't been any updates about the highly anticipated title. However, it looks like we just got some awesome news about the video game. An interesting leak possibly confirms that the franchise's latest addition is in development and it could mark the return of a terrifying character!

The leak comes from NetherRealm Senior Production Manager of Design Jonathan Andersen when he shared a photo of his messy desk. The picture, which he shared on Twitter, was cluttered with Injustice and Mortal Kombat artwork. However, fans zoned in on a file on his monitor which is titled "MK12_Mast...".

We're not sure what kind of file it is, but fans immediately got psyched up since it is clearly connected to Mortal Kombat 12. If it's one Andersen's monitor right now, there is little doubt that he is currently working on the title.

Interestingly, Andersen's tweet has since been deleted which means that there could be some truth in all the hype. For now, NetherRealm has not yet made an official announcement about Mortal Kombat 12. However, there is little doubt we'll be getting an awesome update soon.

We may need to wait a little longer for Mortal Kombat 12 but there is more content from the franchise in the near future. It has recently been confirmed that a sequel to last year's Mortal Kombat film is finally moving forward and that Moon Knight scribe Jeremy Slater is confirmed to work on the script. It has not yet been confirmed whether Simon McQuoid will return to direct the second movie.

The first Mortal Kombat film followed Cole Young, an MMA fighter who is thrust into a deadly tournament that spans dimensions. Young must join the other warriors of the Earthrealm in an epic tournament against the Outworld.

Mortal Kombat 2 has not yet been given an official release date. However, an announcement about the cast and crew could be made soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
