With a release date set for next month, Mortal Kombat 11 is slowly revealing its roster of playable characters. After the reveal of MKX newbies Jacqui Briggs and Kotal Khan, this new reveal trailer focuses once again on a klassic combatant—Noob Saibot.

Admittedly the MK timeline is kind of muddled up, but it looks here that the story is sticking to the history of Noob Saibot being a former Sub-Zero who was killed then resurrected as Noob. Just in case you didn't know, Noob Saibot's name comes from two devs of MK having their names flipped around; those two devs being Ed Boon (Noob) and John Tobias (Saibot).

With every MK game promises a different fighting mechanic for each character, so we should expect MK 11's Noob to play very different from his last iteration. Noob had actually missed out the roster of the last game, and his last appearance was way back in MK 9.

Nevertheless, a lot of people are happy to see this klassic character come back. While Sub-Zero and Scorpion are always likely to be in the spotlight with every new game, it's secondary characters like Noob that don't really get priority when it comes to coming up with a new game roster. Sure it's nice to have old faces come back, but I think it's best if we get a bunch of new characters regularly as well.

Mortal Kombat 11 launches on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 23.
