Morbius Is Receiving Negative Early Fan Reactions: "Disjointed and Boring," "Unfortunately Not Great"

We're now a week away before Sony's Morbius hits theaters and the anticipation for the upcoming comic book film hasn't been as big as we thought it would be given that it is part of a major franchise. Just like any other upcoming film that gets released, a lot of fans are wondering if Morbius is going to be good or if it will have a similar reception as the first Venom.

The film had its advanced fan screening last night in London and early reactions are now starting to come out on social media. Unfortunately, most of the responses from the fans who have seen Morbius have been mostly negative, describing the latest Sony's Spider-Man Universe entry as "boring and disjointed," "unfortunately not great," "bad plotting," and many more.

You can check some of the early fan reactions from the screening below:

Based on these early reactions, it looks like most of the criticisms are on the plot, visual effects, and the post-credit scenes that might confuse a lot of viewers. However, they are praising Matt Smith's performance.

It is unfortunate that the film is getting early negative reactions as it just shows that the film might not live up to fans' expectations. Of course, films are subjective so, while they might have come out of it with a negative response, it is still likely that you will end up liking and enjoying the film. These reactions are still very early and it would be interesting to see if this will continue once the embargo on the critic reviews has been lifted.

Prior to this, there is a lot of anticipation for the film as it will feature the first live-action appearance of Morbius, who has been a beloved character in the Spider-Man comics for years. It will also be the first film in the franchise that won't feature Venom. While the early reactions have been underwhelming so far, its box office performance (especially during opening weekend) will be the key factor in order to call it a success.
