The first trailer for the upcoming Spider-Verse spinoff, Morbius, has been recently released. The teaser actually shows Jared Leto's look as the antihero and a glimpse of what to expect in the movie, but it seems like Sony could have possibly spoiled the movie's ending.
A cameo by Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes, known as Vulture, was surprisingly included in the trailer. It's certainly a surprising detail to include in the movie's very first trailer, but there is a possibility that this shot could be the film's ending, or a part of the mid-credits or post-credits and not just in the middle of the film itself.
As you may already know, Sony Pictures is well known for including these kinds of scenes in their trailers for their Spider-Man films. For instance, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer showed Spider-Man's return as he swings against the mechanized Rhino. This shot was later revealed to be the movie's ending clip. Also, the second official trailer showed a short clip of the Man in Black, who was seen walking past technology that belonged to the Sinister Six.
In addition, the final shot of Homecoming was also included in the marketing where the unmasked Spider-Man is in his room, only to be discovered by Aunt May in his costume. Venom's second trailer also included the film's last scene where the antihero feasts on a robber.
Piecing those together, it is very likely that Vulture's appearance in the trailer could be a part of the ending scene, or as mentioned, in the post-credits. However, it is important to note that this is only a speculation and that the Vulture could have a bigger role in the movie than fans expect.
Jared Leto will star as the titular antihero in Morbius, set for release on July 31.
