We're only days away from the theatrical release of Sony Pictures' Morbius and to the folks excited to see Jared Leto's official Marvel debut as the Living Vampire, we've got a rather worrying update for you. As expected, critics have already gotten the chance to see the film ahead of its worldwide release through a junket and the reviews haven't been favorable for the Spider-Man spinoff film.

On Twitter, Brandon Matthews of Geeks Worldwide shared an update regarding Morbius' first screening reactions and according to him, several critics didn't like the film. Matthews claims that the journalists he talked to described the film as "boring and uncalculated". He did say that the film is home to some good moments and a few easter eggs but apart from those, it's best to just wait for its digital home release. Yikes! Check out his tweet below:

Of course, early reviews mean nothing at this point until the whole world sees the film. At the end of the day, it's still up to the fans to decide whether or not the film is serviceable or not. However, if Morbius does end up becoming a critical flop, then it's an actual shame because considering the project has been delayed on more than one occasion, you would think that Sony Pictures went out of its way in an effort to improve it. I think it's time to admit that the only way for their shared universe to actually click is with some help from Marvel Studios.

That being said, Morbius is scheduled for release on April 1, 2022.
