It's no secret that Sony Pictures plans to reinforce its Spider-Man film universe and thanks to the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the production company has plenty of reasons to do so. Now, with the entire multiverse concept coming into play which allows characters from all Marvel film franchises to crossover from one universe to another, things just got more interesting and fans have been wondering if we'll actually see Spidey make his way back to his Sony roots.

Speaking of, there have been rumors circulating all over the internet that Andrew Garfield's version of the beloved Marvel hero will make a cameo appearance in Jared Leto's Morbius. If you may recall, the film was originally supposed to hit theaters earlier this year but plans were ultimately scrapped. According to sources, the delay was done as a way to incorporate Garfield into the film but that was never confirmed.

As exciting as that is, a new report from MyTimeToShineHello seems to tell otherwise. According to the Twitter scooper, while Morbius has been teasing a cameo from Spider-Man in its teasers, it's not going to happen. She didn't go exactly into detail about the web-slinger's absence in the film but she also pointed out that the film will have a post-credit scene and if Spider-Man: No Way Home taught us something, it's to expect the unexpected.

Spider-Man appearing in Sony's film universe has long been teased by the production company itself and while No Way Home finally proved that it's possible with the existence of three Spider-Men, it's still hard to tell whether or not we'll actually see him moving forward.

Morbius is scheduled for release on April 1, 2022.
