Moon Knight Star Ethan Hawke Joined MCU Series to Meet Oscar Isaac

Most actors want to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe because it means a multi-picture deal and a huge paycheck. But not Ethan Hawke. The Moon Knight actor has just admitted he only joined the MCU series because he wanted to meet Oscar Isaac.

Back in January, it was confirmed that Hawke will be joining Moon Knight. Although his role was not revealed, it was confirmed that the Sinister star had been cast as the main villain.

It's no surprise that Hawke would be interested in doing an MCU project considering that every A-lister wants to be a part of the franchise. However, the Purge star admitted during the Watch podcast that there were several reasons why he was interested in Moon Knight.

"A lot of it, to be honest, I love the fact that Moon Knight is a lesser-known story and allows more creative freedom. The director is Mohammed Diab and he's a brilliant guy," Hawke said before confessing his interest in Isaac.

"A lot of it is Oscar, to me, to be honest with you, I find him to be a very exciting player in my field. I like what he's doing with his life. He reminds me of the actors, when I first arrived at New York, that I looked up to," Hawke stated.

We're not surprised that Hawke chose Moon Knight simply because of who he will get to work with in the series. After all, Hawke's career boasts of a diverse list of films and TV shows. With that in mind, there is little doubt that his performance in the MCU series will be something to look forward to.

Moon Knight has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
