Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Episode 1 Recap
Suletta Mercury was heading toward the Asticassia School of Technology when she noticed a floater in space.
She freaked out and informed the docking control center that she will save the floating astronaut. Suletta then took off in her Gundam Aerial to rescue the floater.
However, as soon as she rescued the stranded astronaut, Suletta was headbutted by said astronaut in the cockpit. The astronaut blamed her for ruining her attempt to escape.
Later, when Suletta arrived at school, she ran into the girl she had rescued.
The girl's name is Miorine Rembran, and she was still upset with Suletta for jeopardizing her plan to get out of school for good.
Meanwhile, Suletta was ridiculed for being old-fashioned, and her schoolmates asked why she got a transfer to Asticassia School of Technology.
She explained that this was her first ever school and that her mother insisted that she leave Mercury and join the academy’s piloting department.
Suddenly, the students were interrupted when the field was transformed into a battlefield.
As it turns out, the official Dueling Committee was holding a duel between Guel Jeturk and Darker Eastcott.
A certain Shaddiq Zenelli was the official witness and warned the bystanders not to interfere.
The ill-tempered Guel Jeturk won the battle and almost crushed Suletta under the Darker’s debris. However, she was saved by Miorine.
Later in the episode, Suletta came to know that Guel was Miorine’s fiancé.
As the episode progresses, we learn that Delling Rembran, Miorine’s father, is the head of the Benerit Group and owns Asticassia School of Technology.
He was also leading some of the most powerful space corporations.
During the episode, Guel attempted to destroy Miorine’s greenhouse but Suletta appeared and confronted Guel. She even slapped him for assaulting Miorine.
Guel was fuming as he challenged Suletta to a duel, which she accepted, leaving Miorine shocked.
Meanwhile, as Guel prepared to battle against Suletta, his father was plotting to assassinate Delling by planting a bomb on his shuttle.
Elsewhere, Guel was shocked when he discovered that Miorine came forward to fight against Guel.
Despite her determination, she was unable to use Suletta’s Aerial.
She was losing the battle and Suletta decided to take matters into her own hands.
She arrived at the scene and asked Miorine to back off and let her take charge of her Aerial.
She was adamant that only she can unlock and use the Aerial to its full potential.
After taking over the cockpit, Suletta dominated the duel and cut Guel’s Dilanza into many pieces.
The onlookers and witness were shocked to see Suletta winning the duel without breaking a sweat.
Meanwhile, Guel’s father called off the assassination after hearing that his son lost the battle duel.
According to the rules, Suletta won Guel’s uniform and emblem. Moreover, she also became Miorine’s fiancé.
