It has been a long wait but it finally happened. Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 7 just sent Shigeo Kageyama and his new friends on a trip to try and communicate with extraterrestrials and that means one thing: The iconic Reigen Arataka meme has come to life.
Remembering That Reigen Meme
It's difficult to trace exactly when the meme started but someone posted an edited manga panel from Mob Psycho 100 Chapter 98. It originally shows Mob telling Reigen to drive carefully but the edit features the esper asking, "Why does Serizawa call you 'baby girl'?"
Naturally, the meme gained traction as more fans started watching the anime. And now, the time has come for the manga panel to be animated.
Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 7 Animates The Reigen Meme
In Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 7, Mob helps the Brainwave Club locate another psychic so they can communicate with aliens. After finding one (actually a former member of the club), Mob enlists Reigen to join the club during New Year's Eve so he could rent a car.
Reigen arrives late and is visibly flustered as he begins driving. Mob politely asks him to drive carefully and he asks that they stop talking for a while.
It didn't take long before someone edited the subtitle on the video, giving us an animated version of the iconic Reigen meme.
Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 7 is decidedly light-hearted after everything that went down in the previous episode. Nevertheless, we won't forget about Dimple and his ultimate sacrifice to save Mob.
The next episode of Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 is titled Communicating Part 2: Close Encounters of the Third Kind and will premiere on November 24, 2022.
