Fans of fantasy and horror movies are well aware that Milla Jovovich is fully capable of playing powerful characters with supernatural powers. So it's no surprise that the Hellboy star's latest role in the film Paradise Hills is a cult leader with superpowers.
The trailer for Paradise Hills opens with Uma (Emma Roberts) waking up in a strange room. She cries out for help, asking where she is. "You're in paradise, of course," The Duchess (Jovovich) answers. And she isn't kidding because the island looks amazing.
Despite the beauty of the island, Uma is still unsure about the place. However, the Duchess continues to reassure her until Uma finds new friends in Amarna (Eiza Gonzalez), Yu (Awkwafina), and Chloe (Danielle Macdonald). Nevertheless, it seems like trouble is always just waiting around the corner.
The teaser seems to focus on glorious cinematography but also hints at the darker side of The Duchess. At one point, she threatens Yu and the glass behind her begins to break. It's only a small glimpse at what the character is capable of in the film.
