Michael K. Williams Wants Another Star Wars Role After Being Cut From Solo

Solo: A Star Wars Story might have been a decent movie but the production that troubled it must have been a nightmare. The most infamous incident that plagued the movie was Phil Lord and Chris Miller's removal, with Ron Howard eventually replacing them. That wasn't the only replacing that happened as Paul Bettany was brought in to replace Michael K. Williams, who was supposed to be the film's main villain.

During an interview with Variety, Williams revealed that he doesn't regret his time on the movie; even though he was removed after his schedule couldn't fit into the reshoots. While he has yet to see Solo, Williams is hoping that he gets cast in a new Star Wars movie sometime in the near future.

"I have not had the chance to see ‘Solo' but shout out to my cast mates. Even though I didn't make the final cut, they're still my cast mates. I love you guys."
"I'm quite sure I'll get around to it but I'm more interested in getting another shot in being in that galaxy…I would love another opportunity to be in ‘Star Wars.'"

Williams is still a fan of the franchise so it's easy to see why he would want to be in another Star Wars movie. Plus, his removal from the film was out of his hands and it's a shame that he never got to be in the spinoff. Paul Bettany did do a great job, no doubt about that, but it would have been interesting to see how Williams would have done.

Fans can get Solo: A Star Wars Story on Blu-ray and digital services. Williams might not appear in Star Wars: Episode IX but he could always appear in Rian Johnson's upcoming trilogy.
