Melancholia is a new tvN Kdrama starring Sweet Home actor Lee Do Hyun and Chicago Typewriter star Im Soo Jung. The series premiered on November 10, 2021 and is scheduled to air every Wednesday and Thursday.
Melancholia started with a satisfying nationwide viewership rating of 3.617%. Episode 2 received a nationwide viewership rating of 2.4% which was a slight downfall from the pilot episode.

Melancholia Episode 2 sees Yoon Su discovering that it was Seung Yoo who solved the difficult math question she had put for the advanced students. Yoon Su wanted to encourage Seung Yoo to continue studying mathematics until she found out the truth about his past.
It turns out that Seung Yoo was a mathematics genius during his childhood until an unfortunate incident happened.
On the other hand, Seung Yoo keeps a distance from her when he argued that he has no interest in math. Yoon Su gives him another math problem which became an opportunity for the two of them to connect and understand each other.
Meanwhile, Seung Yoo’s father forces him to take an entrance exam at a science high school. Seung Yoo thought that Yoon Su betrayed him but he found out that the latter was actually protecting him and wishes for him to do what he wants.
Seung Yoo finishes the entrance exam just in time for him to attend the math competition at Asung High School for the International Mathematics Olympics.
