Meghan Markle’s team reportedly scheduled the release of her new Spotify podcast, Archetypes on the week of Princess Diana’s 25th death anniversary. However, this wasn’t meant to overshadow the Princess of Wales but to compliment the occasion.

“Some people will say it was scheduled to coincide with the debut on Meghan’s podcast. But that happened last week. No, it was scheduled to debut the week of Diana’s death. Part of the agreement Meghan’s team made with the outlet was that it had to debut the week of August 29th. Meghan was not given copy or photo approval, but she was given a guaranteed when the interview would run,” a source told Radar Online.

Meghan Markle’s PR Team Convinced Releasing Archetypes On The Week Of Princess Diana’s Death Anniversary Was The Correct Decision

The source said that Markle’s PR team wanted to make sure that when Prince Harry’s wife talks about the royal family again, it would be around the time of Princess Diana’s death. After all, The Firm and its members were also cruel towards the late royal.

“What better time for Meghan to talk about how she was treated by the royal family? The same family who was so cruel to Princess Diana. Meghan knows exactly what she is doing. Not only did she schedule the interview to run this week but she also worked with Spotify to make sure her podcast debuted this month too,” the source said.

Meghan Markle Will Lean More Into Princess Diana Via Her Podcast

Sources are also convinced that Markle would use Archetypes as the perfect avenue to lean into her late mother-in-law, especially after they were compared to each other.

“Meghan thinks this is a winning formula. She has given up on trying to win the support of the Brits. Now, she is focused exclusively on America,” the source said.

Prince William And Prince Harry Commemorated Princess Diana’s Death Anniversary Separately

Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince Harry did not commemorate the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death together. Instead, the estranged brothers privately honored the Princess of Wales separately.

Throughout the years, the brothers have said some heartbreaking things in reference to Princess Diana’s untimely demise. When the brothers found out that their mom had died, they were just 15 and 12 years old.

Last year, the Duke of Cambridge remembered Princess Diana while at a gathering in Edinburgh. He said that Scotland is a source of some of his happiest and saddest moments because he was vacationing in Scotland when his late mother died.

“Still in shock, I found sanctuary in the service of Crathie Kirk (Church) that very morning. And in the dark days of grief that followed, I found comfort and solace in the Scottish outdoors,” he said (via TODAY).

In 2017, Prince Harry admitted that one of his biggest regrets in life is not talking to Princess Diana on the phone longer.

“If I’d known that that was the last time I was going to speak to my mother the things that I would — the things I would have said to her. All I do remember regretting for the rest of my life how short that phone call is. Looking back now, I have to live with that for the rest of my life,” he said in the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.
