Meghan Markle, Had Deliberate Plans To Leave The Royal Family With Prince Harry?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the firm less than two years after they wed. Many were sad about their decisions, but some saw it coming because they noticed how unhappy the royal couple was.

According to The Time royal correspondent Valentine Low in his new book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, the former Suits star had no intention to stay with the royal family for good.

Prior to their decision to leave the royal family, Prince Harry and Markle did an interview with Tom Bradby for a documentary during their tour to Africa. The interviewer noticed how unhappy they were, saying they "seemed a bit bruised and vulnerable."

An unnamed insider told Low that everything that had happened was part of Markle's alleged strategy for Megxit.

"Everyone knew that the institution would be judged by [Meghan's] happiness," a former staff claimed to Low, per News.com.au. "The mistake they made was thinking that she wanted to be happy. She wanted to be rejected, because she was obsessed with that narrative from day one."

Elsewhere in the book, Low wrote, "A succession of perfectly decent people … began to suspect that even her most heartfelt pleas for help were part of a deliberate strategy that had one end in sight: her departure from the royal family. They believe she wanted to be able to say 'Look how they failed to support me."

"Sources say the team came up with a damning epithet for Meghan: a 'narcissistic sociopath.' They also reportedly said on repeated occasions: 'We were played.'"

Prince Harry Also Wanted To Leave The Royal Family Even Before Meeting Meghan Markle

Apparently, if Markle planned to leave the royal family, Prince Harry also wanted the same thing. Prince William's brother had reportedly hated his royal life.

According to Tina Brown, the author of The Palace Papers, Prince Harry would have still been in the palace without Markle because he couldn't do what he wanted. However, she disagreed that Megxit was to be blamed for Markle.

"I do think it's wrongly called Megxit," Brown told Page Six. "He wanted out and she enabled him to do what he wanted. She was strong enough to say, 'You know what? You want out. I can make it happen.'"

"He's shown ever since that he absolutely hates that whole life, doesn't like it," she continued. "If not but for Meghan he wouldn't have found a way out because he basically was a man who had everything done for him all of his life. He had never carved a life for himself. Meghan was very much a self-starter, a self-made successful woman. She knew who to call at Netflix. He wasn't worldly like Meghan was worldly."
