Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were doomed when they realized that they wanted something else than what was in store for them in the monarch, according to a report.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Already Doomed?

Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie appeared on Common Sense, an independent news platform. According to him, Markle was doomed when she joined the firm and expected things to change because things within the royal institution "rarely ever moved forward," and Markle had "changed the waters around her."

"Her private secretary had said that, you know, you'll come in and you'll be like, sort of, a foreign microbe or something in the, sort of, biosphere of the Royal Family," Scobie shared, Express reported. "Every other cell will come and try and fight that and push you out but, at some point, you become part of it."

In the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, Markle said she "tried so hard to fit in," but it "wasn't good enough."

"She [the Queen] represented the constancy... she was figure that was always there and she was, there was no threatening nature within that," Scobie explained.

"She was apolitical, she was unifying, there was nothing polarising about the Queen in a way that, to the majority, should we say Meghan's mere presence completely changed that for so many people. Meghan was doomed, in many ways, regardless of whether she was a nice person or a bad one, I think it was irrelevant."

Mike Omoniyi, the Common Sense host, agreed and added the Sussexes were doomed the "minute they said they wanted something different."

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Want To Be Financially Independent

The royal couple spent their holidays in 2019 in Canada. After their return to the United Kingdom, Prince Harry and Markle announced that they would be stepping back from their royal duties.

"After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year is starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen," they wrote on Instagram.

Scobie confirmed that they wanted to work part-time for the monarchy. However, Queen Elizabeth vetoed the idea because she believed that in service, one has to give their all.

The Duke of Sussex admitted the "half in, half out" arrangement he and his wife proposed in their Netflix documentary. However, according to him, "it became very clear very quickly that that goal was not up for discussion or debate," CNN reported.

In his book, Spare, Prince Harry claimed his father, King Charles, said they could not financially support Markle because he also provides for the Prince and Princess of Wales. Prince Harry speculated that King Charles was not concerned with the finances, but his wife allegedly overshadowed the King, and the latter didn't like it.

"Pa might have dreaded the rising cost of maintaining us, but what he really couldn't stomach was someone new dominating the monarchy, grabbing the limelight, someone shiny and new coming in and overshadowing him. He'd lived through that before, and had no interest in living through it again," he wrote, referring to how his mom, Princess Diana, was more popular with the then-heir to the throne.
