Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly surprised by the backlash of the latter's memoir Spare. There are rumors that the book was the reason the Duchess of Sussex has not been seen in public for a long time.
Meghan Markle Unhappy With The Result Of Prince Harry's Memoir Spare?
Before Prince Harry's book was released, there were speculations that his wife would have a huge influence on it. His official biographer Angela Levin appeared on GB News with Dan Wootton, and they talked about the royal couple.
The host mentioned that Markle was allegedly trying to distance herself from the content of Spare, presumably because she's not happy that her husband has become a punchline and was mocked even at the Grammys.
Wootton was wondering if Markle had some intention of she was being strategic by keeping things low-key following the noise brought about by her husband's book.
"Well, I'm not quite sure, but I do know that a good wife would have gone through that book and said, 'don't say that, it's gonna absolutely fall in the mud on that one' [or] 'It's tricky.' Because she'd be fresh eyes, by reading it, she could have [been] very helpful, but that obviously hasn't been done," Levin said.
"I think he would have listed to her and he would have taken a lot of it out. Well, one is that she now feels that she's got enough confidence and she's known enough to make her own way and there has been a room and she's going to do lots of things now without Harry."
Meghan Markle Furious Prince Harry Undermined Her Brand?
Meanwhile, royal pundit Nile Gardiner also spoke about the damage that Prince Harry's book did to him and his wife. He said on GB News that Spare was the reason Markle has been keeping quiet. They reportedly didn't expect the backlash.
"After all, she has treated Harry like a useful idiot for many years and now Harry is undermining the Meghan brand and obviously she is not happy about that," Gardiner said.
Prince Harry's book contains several allegations against the royal family, and many considered it a "spectacular disaster."
"There's no doubt that Harry has commoditised every aspect of his life and he deserves all the criticism he has got because he fired the first salvo," royal commentator Angela Epstein added. She also declared that when it came to Harry, "nothing is sacred."
