Meghan Markle was accused of bullying palace aides, which she denied. A new book claimed that there were indeed clashes between the Duchess of Sussex and the staffers.
Meghan Markle Allegedly Wanted To Be The 'Queen Bee'
Prince Harry's wife hit the ground running when she married into the royal family. According to Katie Nicholl in her new book The New Royals, the Duchess of Sussex's working style didn't suit well with her aides leading to "personality clashes."
According to Nicholl, she talked to former palace staff, whom she did not name in the book. According to them, Markle had an intense style when it came to work. The former actress reportedly wanted everything to be done immediately regardless of the time she made the request.
Nicholl said that Markle sending emails early morning was not a huge problem because King Charles also sent late-night emails. However, the way she handled when her requests were attended to was reportedly the issue.
"But my understanding from the people that I spoke to, many of whom did work for the Sussexes, was that Meghan in particular [would] want everything done now," Nicholl told The Mirror.
"She expected an immediacy that went with those dawn emails so that she'd hatch an idea, want it executed by the next day, and didn't quite get that the Palace worked at a different pace," Nicholl added. "I think there were culture clashes, there were personality clashes, but I think ultimately, Meghan did want to be queen bee."

Another book made a different allegation against the Duchess of Sussex. The Times royal correspondent Valentine Low claimed in his book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown that he also spoke to a former palace insider. The tipster claimed that Markle thought she would be Beyonce in the United Kingdom.
"I think Meghan thought she was going to be the Beyoncé of the UK. Being part of the royal family would give her that kudos," the anonymous source said. "Whereas what she discovered was that there were so many rules that were so ridiculous that she couldn't even do the things that she could do as a private individual, which is tough . . . It just required the decision-makers to sit around a table and say, 'OK, what are we going to do about this?"
Markle made several complaints when she was in the palace during her tell-all with Oprah Winfrey. According to her, the palace took her passport, driving license and keys. She also admitted that she was completely "naive" about the life that awaited her as a royal.
Markle might have different expectations. Nicholls told Fox News Digital that joining the firm is not easy.
"Marrying into the royal family may look easy, it may look like a wonderful life of … round-the-clock staff," Nicholl explained. "The reality is, it's really tough. … We can look back to [Diana], the Princess of Wales, [and] the struggles that she had, the isolation that she felt at a very early stage in her marriage to the Prince of Wales."
