Star Trek has been one of the most popular franchises in our lifetime, thanks to a number of great television shows and movies throughout the years. The recent film reboot had many worried at first but it ended up being a fairly solid addition to the series' lore, with a lot of people hoping for a fourth installment after Beyond. Rumors have circulated that Chris Pine would not be returning to the franchise and that Megan Fox might be joining the next film.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Transformers actress addressed these rumors and stated that there was no truth to them, unfortunately. However, she did say that she would like to be in one of the franchise's movies so it looks like anything is possible. Whether it's the Tarantino movie or the fourth in the J.J. Abrams-verse, fans will have a lot to say about her joining.
"I would love it. That sounds great. I'm a fan. Butliterallythere's zero truth to it so far. But maybe you'll make it happen!"
Apparently, Fox is never on the internet so she probably isn't aware of all the wonderful memes that can be found. Still, her answer seems to be fairly legitimate and it looks like we won't be seeing her in any Star Trek-related projects anytime soon. This will probably disappoint some of her fans, though those that didn't like her in Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are probably happy.
These rumors started when a fan asked the official Star Trek Twitter about an Instagram story that had Fox and a Star Trek logo. The Star Trek Twitter simply replied with a smile but it looks like that was just done to cause some chatter. Then again, actors have lied about their roles before.
Star Trek 4 does not have a proper release date, as of this writing.
