After an unfortunate leak, Capcom has properly announced that Mega Man 11 will be coming out on October 2 for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The company also released a spiffy new trailer with a ton of gameplay, not to mention our first look at the game's Robot Masters. We also get an explanation for the Double Gear system and it looks like a useful feature.

There is a lot to absorb, so let's jump right in like Mega Man would.

Gameplay-wise, there is a lot that fans of the classic series will be familiar with. There is shooting, jumping, sliding, charged-shooting, the works. Rush returns to Mega Man's aid as well, helping out with the Rush Coil for higher jumps to find secrets and the Rush Jet to avoid obstacles and speed through levels faster.

Now for that Double Gear system. The trailer shows that Mega Man can use this feature to slow down time for more precise platforming and to fully power his Mega Buster for more damage. It seems like some levels will be designed around this and Mega Man will have to slow down time to make safer platform jumps, which could provide a challenge for players.

Finally, the first two Robot Masters we see are Block Man and Fuse Man, who are cement-based and electricity-based respectively. What's cool is that Mega Man's appearance will actually change when he switches weapons, which adds some visual flair to the game. Block Man's weapon is seen being used a lot in this trailer and the last one, so expect to get a lot of mileage out of it.

What's really surprising is that the game will cost US$29.99, making it cheaper than most games. It seems like this was done because it's a sidescrolling shooter and the Mega Man games aren't particularly long. Here's hoping it's a hell of a ride while it lasts.

Mega Man 11 comes out on October 2 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
